Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of Quran memorization teachers in maintaining student memorization at Al Wafi Islamic Boarding School, Depok. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the Quran memorization program was implemented using the talaqqi method supplemented by muroja'ah (religious study). The teachers played a role in guiding and assisting students, allocating dedicated time for muroja'ah, providing motivation, and facilitating students in strengthening memorization. Evaluation of Quran memorization learning was carried out through the development of halaqoh (religion meeting) regulations, determining memorization targets, weekly evaluations, Quran memorization exams, and monthly Quran memorization reports submitted to parents. Furthermore, updates to Quran memorization activities were made, including providing additional hours outside of class hours for students who were not yet fluent in Quran recitation and implementing a program for studying the Quran in the unseen. The implications of this Quran memorization program are that it can develop religious students with a strong commitment to Quran memorization.
