Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of educational facilities and infrastructure maintenance, identify the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting its implementation, and analyze its impact on improving educational quality at Al Wafi International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) Depok. The background of this research is based on the importance of educational facilities and infrastructure as key components in supporting the success of the teaching and learning process within a boarding school environment. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, vice principal for facilities and infrastructure, teachers, technicians, and students. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the maintenance of educational facilities and infrastructure at Al Wafi IIBS Depok is carried out in a planned, routine, and participatory manner. Maintenance activities include preventive maintenance (routine maintenance) and corrective maintenance (repair activities), coordinated by the facilities and infrastructure department with support from the principal and the entire school community. Supporting factors include clear school policies, leadership support, active participation of school members, and the availability of equipment and operational funding. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include budget limitations, a shortage of skilled technical personnel, the relatively low awareness of some students, and unpredictable weather conditions. The maintenance of educational facilities and infrastructure has proven to have a positive impact on educational quality, as reflected in improved learning comfort, enhanced student discipline, greater operational efficiency, and a positive public image of the school. Therefore, maintenance activities at Al Wafi IIBS Depok not only ensure the sustainability of physical facilities but also serve as an integral part of achieving sustainable educational quality.
