Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of Islamic educational psychology in the digital era by examining opportunities, challenges, and factors influencing learning effectiveness. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach by analyzing scholarly articles published over the last five years (2021–2025). Data were collected from various academic databases through a systematic selection process based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and analyzed using content analysis, thematic analysis, and narrative synthesis to identify patterns, trends, and research gaps. The findings indicate that the digitalization of education enhances flexibility, accessibility, and learner autonomy. However, it also presents challenges, including reduced social interaction, increased cognitive load, and the suboptimal internalization of Islamic values in digital learning environments. Furthermore, the effectiveness of digital learning is influenced by instructional design quality, teachers’ digital competence, institutional support, and the quality of social interaction. The study concludes that the success of digital learning in Islamic education is not solely determined by technology, but by the integration of psychological, pedagogical, and spiritual dimensions in instructional design. Therefore, an integrative and adaptive approach is essential to create effective and meaningful learning experiences while strengthening students’ character and spiritual resilience in the digital era.
